Nufflenomics: Riotous Rookies

I recently finished painting up my snotlings and was thinking about taking them to a tournament in December and I was wondering about the value in taking riotous rookies. Long story short, I found out that the tournament doesn’t allow this inducement – however I’d done a lot of thinking about it already, so here it is below. What is it? Riotous Rookies is an inducement available for ogre and snotling teams for a cost of 100k. Before the game starts, you roll 2 x D3, add the results together and then add 1 to get that number of additional journeymen for the game. The economics You therefore will get somewhere between 3 and 7 journeymen for the game. The statistics on this are below: Journeymen Percentage Value 3 11% 45 4 22% 60 5 33% 75 6 22% 90 7 11% 105 You can see from this that even the

SKABB Stats Season 1-8

I'm the sort of person who loves stats and history, so I've created a database of the first 8 seasons of the SKABB League, and presented below are a large number of stats, tables etc from doing so. If you can think of anything else that you might find interesting, do let me know and I'll see if I can get a report out for it. Games Played Across the 8 season, 636 games have been played. A total of 1,745 touchdowns were scored (an average of 2.6 per game) and a total of 2,257 casualties have been caused (an average of 3.55 per game). Stew has recorded the most number of games played, but Marc is suprsingly close despite having played one fewer season - likely because he has progressed further in the cup and the play-offs on average.  Iain and Tommy are just outside and one of them should sneak in this season at the expense of Archie. 9 coaches have played 5 or more seasons, they are listed below.  Touchdowns The most number of touchdowns scored in a game is 7! This has happen

Christmas Market Gutterbowl, Chaos Cards 11th November 2023

Image
Last year we started a tradition of having a secret santa within our league (called Secret SKABBer) and we had some silly, fun games being played on an ad hoc basis. This year, having previously held the f irst Gutterbowl tournament in the universe , and also having recently run a Gutterbowl league in our off-season, we took the decision to run a Christmas Market themed Gutterbowl tournament on the Secret SKABBer night. The rules were took the basic Gutterbowl team building rules, but adding a Letters to Santa rule where at the start of each game you rolled a D8 and depending on the result you got either a present or a punishment. 1-2 meant Doctor Sawbones visited and a random player lost a point of movement, 3-4 a player gained Pro, 5-6 meant a lesser magic potion and 7-8 meant you'd been really got and you got you a re-roll. As people started registering their teams on Tourplay I noticed a couple of Christmas puns and so I then decided I need to pick my team based on the best Ch

Bromley Winter Cup 2, 2nd December 2023

Our friends in Bromley ran their final event of the year this past weekend, the Winter Cup. The event sold out in roughly 2 hours which is a testament to both the popularity of BloodBowl at the moment, and also to how well Chris and the BBBL run their events. With a 1100 TV build, this meant teams were going to have slightly slimmer rosters than they normally would at a tournament. I went back and forth over what to take. Having played halflings a lot recently, I had considered taking them. With teams likely to have fewer re-rolls stealing them could be a lot more impactful. I then thought about snotlings. I have recently finished painting my snotling team and came up with a full roster before reading the rulespack (the wrong way round, I am very much aware) and discovering that there were no riotous rookies. Finally I did what I normally do and got Oli to pick my team for me. I ended up taking a Chaos Chosen roster with a block minotaur, four warriors (2 block, two guard), 7 beastmen
