Santa's Sleigh Slam, 9th December in Folkestone

The SKABB League has a good history with GutterBowl. In 2023, we ran the Universe's First Ever GutterBowl Tournament (TM) . We then ran a Christmas one that year and it now seems that will be our festive tradition, along with our Secret SKABBer gift distribution. A quick analysis of the NAF database also shows that we've run more GutterBowl tournaments than any other league. Admittedly only 3, but it's still the most.  Santa's Sleigh Slam was being TO'd by BeardedLucha. Listeners to our podcast will be aware that he loves AI, and didn't hesitate to ask one of the multiple machines that will one day rise up and take over to write the ruleset for this event.  As such, we had a slippery floor which meant -1 to rushing and dodging. If a team didn't roster a re-roll, they they would be given a gift from Santa at the start of each game which could be an additional skill, a re-roll or a handicap to your opponent. I decided to play gnomes for this. There were a few ...

Christmas Market Gutterbowl, Chaos Cards 11th November 2023

Last year we started a tradition of having a secret santa within our league (called Secret SKABBer) and we had some silly, fun games being played on an ad hoc basis. This year, having previously held the f irst Gutterbowl tournament in the universe , and also having recently run a Gutterbowl league in our off-season, we took the decision to run a Christmas Market themed Gutterbowl tournament on the Secret SKABBer night. As people started registering their teams on Tourplay I noticed a couple of Christmas puns and so I then decided I need to pick my team based on the best Ch...

At our recent Dungeonbowl tournament with the news of the GutterBowl release having just been revealed, we discussed the possibility of arranging a tournament on the release day so that we could all play together for the first time. As it happened, the logistics meant that arranging it for a couple of weeks later worked out better and also gave us the time to all actually read the rulebook. This was officially the first ever NAF Gutterbowl tournament in the Universe. See the confirmation of this below from NAF Honcho Stimme.  10 of us took part - 9 from our league and the honorary SKABBer, Bob (phuqster), who dashed up from Brighton as soon as he finished work to join us. This was the first time we had used Tourplay for an event and it worked really well. It meant not needing a laptop along with us, being able to run an event paperless and the draw being available for everyone to view as soon as it was done. Some of this was not necessary when we were only a few feet away from eac...
