SKABB Stats Season 1-8

I'm the sort of person who loves stats and history, so I've created a database of the first 8 seasons of the SKABB League, and presented below are a large number of stats, tables etc from doing so. If you can think of anything else that you might find interesting, do let me know and I'll see if I can get a report out for it.

Games Played

Across the 8 season, 636 games have been played. A total of 1,745 touchdowns were scored (an average of 2.6 per game) and a total of 2,257 casualties have been caused (an average of 3.55 per game).

Stew has recorded the most number of games played, but Marc is suprsingly close despite having played one fewer season - likely because he has progressed further in the cup and the play-offs on average. 


Iain and Tommy are just outside and one of them should sneak in this season at the expense of Archie.

9 coaches have played 5 or more seasons, they are listed below. 

Touchdowns

The most number of touchdowns scored in a game is 7! This has happened on 3 occasions. 

Season 1: Oli's Skaven v Kias's humans (5-2)
Season 1: Pete G's slann v Kias's humans (4-3)
Season 2: Stew's elf union v Paul Brook's skaven (4-3)

And then there is the best average number of touchdowns here. 


The most number of team TD in a game is 5. This has happened a total of 15 times and has been achieved by Oli (5 times), Matt Moate and Dan (twice each) and by Iain, Marc, Pete A, Ron, Stew A and Wes.

Casualties

The Most CAS in a game ever was in round 5 of the last season, Season 8 in the match between Craig's snotlings and Pete's chaos dwarfs when a total of 11 casuatlies was caused, 4 for the snotlings and 7 for the chorfs.

10 cas has been recorded three times:

Season 5: Oli's tomb kings v Stew A's flings (5-5)
Season 4: Oli's wood elfs v Stew A's khorne (old roster) (2-8)
Season 4: Marc's skaven v Wes's ogres (5-5)

The most number of team Casulaties in a game is 8. This has been achieved three times - by Marc, Gordon and Stew A.

Race choices

The most played race by far is Orcs - 13 players have played them across 8 seasons. Dark elf and human are next having each been played 7 times. All races have been played across the 8 seasons, although 4 have only been played once - amazons (Marianne), Imperial Nobility (Ross), Old World Alliance (Pete A) and Snotling (Craig)

12 races have been played by 5 or more coaches and they are below.


Some teams have been played more seasons though as can be seen in the number of games played table.

8 coaches have played 4 or more races. Oli has managed 9 across 8 seasons due to having played a different team in the cup one season.

Nufflenomics: The Fouling Game

Who doesn’t love a good foul? Elf coaches, probably. But the rest of us love seeing a wee little player take a run up and jump on top of that big mean wardancer! There are inducements you can take that will help you with this and I want to chat about them all, along with a couple of other things around kicking them while they’re down. Bribes Firstly, and probably most commonly, there is a bribe. The cost of this is 100k, reduced to 50k for teams with the Bribery & Corruption rule. I wanted to consider what the actual value of a bribe is. In simple terms, you’ve got a 5 in 6 chance of keeping your player on the pitch. Therefore, mathematically, the actual value of the bribe can be calculated as the value of the player multiplied by 83% and then compared against the cost of the bribe. Nufflenomics: How Strong is the Average Bloodbowl Player?

I was pondering whilst doing the washing up earlier what the average strength of a BloodBowl player is. Not the real life humans that play the game, that would be very difficult to calculate, but the players within the game. This was a prerequistie for something else that I was pondering on and is relatively easy to work out so I thought I'd look into this now.  I think the initial assumption is that strength 3 is "the norm." Humans are strength 3 and seen as the vanilla choice. A large number of other teams have strength 3 linemen positionals as well and whilst some teams are stronger, some are weaker and you'd expect it to average out to around 3.  You could look at all of the positionals in the game and add up all their strengths and divide them by the number of positionals (and you would get the answer 3.32), however this will be skewed by the fact that you are assigning the same weight (mathematically speaking, definitely not if you put them on the sales) to, for
